HOW THE VISIT WORKS

We Measure and Price It At Your House, in One Visit

One appointment, one person, one number. You don't drive anywhere and you don't wait a week to find out what it costs.

  1. Step 01

Someone from our team comes to you

You pick the time. The visit is free and nothing about it obligates you.

  2. Step 02

    The job gets measured

Room by room, on your actual floor. Doorways, closets, transitions, and how flat the slab is, which on tile decides a lot.

  3. Step 03

You get the price before they leave

Same visit, same person, worked out in front of you while they're standing on the slab.

  4. Step 04

A signing link comes to your phone

Only if you want it. If it isn't right, nothing happens and nobody follows you around your kitchen.

WHY IT HAPPENS AT THE HOUSE

Nobody can price a tile floor over the phone

What decides your number is what's coming out, how flat the slab is, the size of the tile you want, the layout, and how much baseboard has to come off and go back on. Old tile coming out is the slow part and somebody has to see it. So does a slab that dips, because large-format tile will show every bit of it.

So we send that person to you, and they finish the job while they're there. Measurements, material, price. One visit.

WHAT WE INSTALL

Porcelain, Ceramic, Marble and Stone, Set Flat

Tile is the floor South Florida has always run on. It stays cool, the humidity does nothing to it, and sand and pool water don't mark it. What it costs you is time and dust. We say that before you sign, not on day three.

WHAT DECIDES HOW IT LOOKS

It's the slab, the layout and the grout. The tile is the easy part.

Flatness first. Large-format tile, anything with a side of 15 inches or more, is honest about a slab that dips. One edge sits higher than the next and you catch a toe on it. That's lippage, and there's no fixing it after. So the slab gets ground and filled and checked with a straightedge before a tile goes down, and big tile goes in with leveling clips holding every edge flush.

Layout. Where the full tiles land and where the cuts fall. Straight lay, offset, diagonal, or a big format running straight through into the hallway. The crew snaps lines and dry fits a run before anybody mixes thinset, so the pattern lands right at the doorways.

Grout. The color changes the whole floor. Matched, and a large-format floor reads as one surface. Contrasting, and every line shows on purpose. Look at the grout against the tile in your own light, not under a showroom lamp. Narrower lines need a flatter tile and a flatter slab, and we'll tell you what yours can hold.

Porcelain or marble. Porcelain is the usual pick. Dense, low absorption, and it comes in the big formats and the marble and stone looks. Real marble and natural stone are beautiful and demanding here: they need sealing, they move with the slab, and they don't forgive one that isn't flat. We install both. We'll also tell you plainly what living with stone looks like before you pick it.

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS

Tile Takes Longer. Here's Where the Days Go.

Thinset and grout cure on their own schedule and no crew can shorten that. Six to seven crews install for Ozzifloors regularly, and Walter dispatches them himself.

  1. Tear-out

Old tile is the slow, dusty one. It gets broken up with the thinset under it and carried out in buckets. We close off the area and clean at the end of the day, but a tile demolition day is loud and messy, and we'd rather you hear that now. Carpet or laminate coming out is quick by comparison.

  2. Slab leveling and flatness

The slab gets checked with a straightedge. High spots ground down, low spots filled with leveling compound, then the whole surface swept clean. Tile is only as flat as what's under it, and this is the step that stops lippage. It is not optional on large format.

  3. Layout and dry fit

Lines get snapped off the wall the room reads from. Full tiles where you see them, cuts where you don't. The crew lays out a dry run before mixing anything, so the pattern lands where it should at the doorways and the cuts come out even.

  4. Thinset and setting

Thinset on the slab, and on the back of every large-format piece as well. Spacers hold the joints, leveling clips hold the edges flush. Rectified tile can go tighter; ordinary pressed tile can't, and we'll say which yours is.

  5. It cures

Nobody walks on it. Thinset needs its time before grout goes in, which usually means grout happens on a later day than the setting. That's the day people don't expect, which is why it's written here.

  6. Grout, then it cures again

Grout goes in and gets cleaned off the face of the tile before it hazes. Then it cures too. Natural stone gets sealed after, and cement grout benefits from a seal whatever the tile.

  7. Transitions and baseboard

Thresholds where the tile meets another floor, so the height change is bridged and not just a step. Then baseboard or quarter round back on and caulked top and bottom.

  8. Cleanup

The old floor, the buckets and the boxes leave with the crew. They'll tell you when the floor can take furniture, because on tile that isn't the same afternoon.

That table is our published projects, nearly all of them vinyl, so tile isn't in it and runs longer. A single room is usually one day. A whole house is normally two to three. Tile runs longer than everything else because thinset and grout cure on their own schedule, and grout is a second trip.

What adds days on tile: tearing out old tile, leveling a slab flat enough for large format, a diagonal or patterned layout with a lot of cuts, and natural stone that needs sealing at the end.

You'll know which one your job is before you sign, not on the morning of day three.

We had a great experience with Ozzifloors. Our HOA had to do major building work, and unfortunately that work completely destroyed our floors. We called Ozzifloors, and they came out the very next day to assess the damage and provide an incredibly reasonable quote.

The job required re-leveling the floor and replacing some tiles. From start to finish, the process was smooth and professional. Within a week, we had beautiful new floors. The actual installation took about a day and a half, and it only took that long because we needed to allow time for the leveling product to fully dry.

Everyone we worked with was professional, responsive, and detail-oriented. We couldn’t be happier with the results. Thank you, Ozzifloors!

From start to finish what an amazing team!! They worked around all my needs and made this the best experience ever. I have 2 large mastiff dogs and they were so patient and accommodating. They are the hardest workers I have ever met, cleaned up everything and left it just how it was. Thank you for making this such a great experience!! So thankful….I put this off for so long thinking it would be a huge mess but it wasn’t at all they worked around everything and left it looking better than ever.

I simply couldn't be more satisfied with the work done! From the first contact to the final result, everything was impeccable.

The team demonstrated rare professionalism: always punctual, extremely polite, organized, and meticulous with every detail. The floor installation was perfect, with an impeccable finish and attention to the smallest details that truly makes a difference.

In addition to the excellent quality of service, they took enormous care of my home. They kept everything very clean and organized throughout the entire project and, upon completion, left the environment practically spotless, which shows the respect they have for the client.

It's very difficult to find professionals who deliver exactly what they promise, on time, with such dedication and care. You can tell they are proud of the work they do, and that shows in the final result.

I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for quality, honesty, organization, and a high-standard finish. It was certainly one of the best experiences I've ever had hiring a service for my home. Thank you so much for all the care and excellence!

ASKED BEFORE EVERY TILE JOB

The Ones People Actually Ask

How many days does a tile floor take?

Longer than anything else we install, and we won't pretend otherwise. Tearing out old tile is a day on its own. Then the slab gets leveled, the tile gets set, and the thinset has to cure before anyone grouts it, so grout usually happens on a later day, and the grout cures too. Across our published projects, nearly all of them vinyl, a single room is usually one day and a whole house is normally two to three. A tile job sits past that. You get your actual schedule at the in-home visit, before you sign.

How bad is the dust from tearing out old tile?

Real. Old tile and the thinset under it get broken up and carried out, and that is the dustiest day in flooring. We close off the work area, keep it contained as far as a slab-on-grade house allows, and clean up at the end of each day. Clearing the rooms of anything you don't want dusty before the crew arrives makes a big difference. If your existing tile is flat and solidly stuck down, sometimes it can stay down instead, which skips the demolition day entirely. Whoever comes out will tell you which one you have.

Can you put new tile over my old tile?

Sometimes. It works when the old tile is flat, solidly stuck down, and the extra height doesn't cause a problem at the front door, the sliders, the dishwasher or the toilet flange. It saves the demolition day and most of the dust. It also raises your floor by roughly half an inch, which matters more than people expect at a doorway. Loose tile, hollow spots, or a height problem anywhere means it comes out. Our estimator works that out standing on it, which is why nobody can answer this on the phone.

What is lippage, and how do you stop it on large-format tile?

Lippage is one tile edge sitting higher than the next. You feel it with a bare foot and you see it when low afternoon light comes across the floor. Big tile shows it worst, because a long edge has more room to drift over a dip in the slab. Two things stop it: the slab gets ground and filled until it's genuinely flat, checked with a straightedge before a tile goes down, and large format goes in with leveling clips that hold every edge flush while the thinset sets. Thinset also goes on the back of each big piece, not just the floor, so there's no hollow under it.

Marble or porcelain in this climate?

Porcelain doesn't care about humidity, salt air, sand or pool water, and it comes in marble and stone looks that are hard to tell apart from the real thing at standing height. It's what most people end up choosing. Real marble and natural stone are beautiful and we install them, but they need sealing on a schedule, they etch, and they don't forgive a slab that isn't flat. If you want stone, you'll get it done properly and you'll get a plain description of what looking after it involves before you commit.

How do I pick the grout color and the grout line?

Against your actual tile, in your own light. Grout chips lie under showroom lighting. A grout that matches the tile makes a large-format floor read as one surface. A contrasting grout draws every line and makes the pattern deliberate, which is fine if that's the look you want. Narrower lines look cleaner but need a flatter tile and a flatter slab. Rectified tile, cut square after firing, can go tighter than ordinary pressed tile. We'll tell you what your specific tile can hold.

How much is this going to cost?

You get your exact number at the in-home visit, worked out in front of you before the person who came out leaves. It covers the tile, tearing out whatever is down now, leveling the slab, the thinset and grout, the labor, the transitions and trim, and hauling the debris away when the crew leaves. What moves it up or down: whether old tile is coming out, how much leveling the slab needs, the size of the tile, the layout and how many cuts it takes, and porcelain against natural stone, which price very differently. Tile runs higher than vinyl and takes longer. The visit and the price are free, and nothing about them obligates you.

Do you tile bathrooms?

Yes, when it comes with a floor job. We're a flooring company that tiles bathrooms, not a bathroom remodeler.
